When you let us use your location, we use it to show you menus and dishes near you. That’s it.

Your location is not stored on our servers and is not tied to your identity — so we don’t track where you are or build a picture of your movements. It’s kept on your own device (in your browser) and sent with a request only so we can return nearby results, then forgotten. You can clear it any time by tapping “Forget” on the location prompt.

We don’t capture your IP address or device fingerprint, and we never use a persistent identifier to follow you across visits or build a profile of you. To understand whether the site itself is working — for example, whether people who search go on to open a menu — we may count anonymous steps within a single visit. That count is never linked to you, your identity, or any other visit, and it’s discarded when your visit ends.

We don’t sell your data. And there are no reviews or ratings on nosh.guru — so nothing you do here is attached to a public profile.

We keep aggregate, anonymous signals about which dishes people search for in an area — for example “lots of people near here look for vegan brunch.” This helps us improve search and understand local food demand. It is never tied to you as an individual, and we never reveal numbers small enough to single anyone out.

We use a small cookie to remember your last-known location (above) so nearby results load fast. If you set food preferences, those are also kept on your device. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Accounts are optional. If you choose to make one, you decide what we’ll remember for you (such as your preferences), you give explicit consent, and you can change it or delete your account — and everything in it — at any time.

Venue information comes from publicly available sources, and owners can verify and control their own listing. Any aggregate insight we publish is about how a region eats, never private data about a single business.
